In this episode of “A cielo aperto – Con i frutti della terra” of 30/07/2023 Claudio Ferri is in Sorbolo (PR) with Davide Previati, our Head of the Technical Office, and our partners Marina e Stefano Bosco.

In this episode we observe closely the collection of the round tomato and cherry tomatoes. The latter is our niche product and our Bosco members are specialized in its cultivation and harvesting.

We also talk about the problems caused by the heavy rains and hailstorms of recent weeks and the related consequences on tomatoes cultivation throughout the affected area. Finally, we address the raw materials supply issues for industries.

06/11/2023: Transplants and the 2023 tomato campaign

In this episode of “A cielo aperto – Con i Frutti della Terra” of 11/06/2023 Claudio Ferri and our President and tomato producer, Pier Luigi Arata, are at Podenzano (PC) to talk about the tomato transplants and how they went considering a first phase with low temperatures and drought followed by a rainy phase which has caused transplant slowdowns.

In this episode an automatic transplanting machine in operation can also see.

In the second part of the episode our Head of the Technical Office, Davide Previati, makes a technical analysis of the irrigation of the tomato and underlines the importance of providing an adequate amount of water in the cultivation of this product. At the end some considerations are done about the upcoming campaign of colleting tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.

 

In the third and last part Davide reaches our partner Vincenzo Veneziani in Pontenure (PC). Together they make some considerations on the seasonal trend of this year and the consequences for the cultivation of industrial tomatoes.

In this episode of ” Agricoltura e Dintorni ” of 10/06/2023 we returned to our partner Nicolò Paini owner of the company Le Mandrie Società Agricola together with Davide Previati our Head of the Technical Office.

We are in Collecchio the tomato is now in vegetative development and we are at the flowering of the third stage. With Nicolò and Davide we analyze the situation of the crop in the field and the needs of the crop until the harvest.

01/01/2023: The industrial tomato: what future for the supply chain?

In the first episode of the year of “A cielo aperto – Con i frutti della terra” on 01/01/2023 Claudio Ferri presents the round table organized at GRECI Industria Alimentare in Ravadese (PR) to talk about the present and the future of industrial tomato supply chain in Northern Italy.

ASIPO is present at the round table with Pier Luigi Arata (President) and Davide Previati (Head of Agronomic Office), together with Tiberio Rabboni (President of OI Pomodoro da Industria Nord Italia) and Achille Ghisoni (Agronomist and Purchasing Manager of GRECI Industria Alimentare).

The first part (https://youtu.be/5OPI1pxWIlg)  is about the results obtained during the 2022 tomato campaign, a transformation reality of excellence in our area that processes other products in addition to tomatoes and the activities carried out by our association. Finally, a focus is made on the use of processed tomatoes in the kitchen.

In the second part (https://youtu.be/chAd2h3oHtA), some recipes are cooked to show the use of industrial tomatoes in the kitchen. After that the advantages of the drip irrigation technique are explained. Finally, our president talks about the negotiation of the price of tomatoes for 2023.

At the end of this part, some considerations are made on the role that the processing industry can play in supporting the agricultural part and giving it security and on the economic support that will come from the European Union.

In this third and last part (https://youtu.be/-e1i0aJmoQ8) of the episode Marina Candellari (Head of Innovation and External Relations of the Greek Food Industry) talks about the importance and attention towards our country, in general, and our territory. Some special products cultivated by ASIPO are then presented, such as the datterino tomato, the elongated tomato and the organic industrial tomato.

Quality and innovation start from the field and continue in the transformation of the raw material into precious products for consumers.
